AIMS The basic aim of the ŠOLT language programmes is to prepare our students to fully understand the written and spoken Slovene language in basic dialogues. Our students will be able to communicate their way through everyday situations and with time also be able to communicate in more demanding (higher-levels) dialogues and conversations. THE ADVANTAGES OF ŠOLT COURSES The advantages of ŠOLT language courses include the relaxed and learner-based atmosphere and also the possibility of a wide variety of course levels students can choose from according to their existing knowledge. In small groups each of the students can expect all of the teacher's attention. The small number of people attending the class also enables the group to function in a dynamic and interesting way. The courses are intense, which means students have to work hard but can also learn a lot. THE DURATION OF THE LANGUAGE COURSES The language courses all consist of 30 lessons, each of them lasts for 45 minutes. The students attend the course twice a week (Monday and Wednesday; Tuesday and Thursday) for a period of two months. The summer courses as well consist of 30 lessons, but are carried out in three weeks. The lessons occur every day from Monday to Thursday. TEACHING METHODS Up to nine students attend the courses in lower levels and up to 4 students in higher levels. The courses are organized as active, and dynamic workshops where each of the students has the opportunity to participate fully and actively. The participant thus have a better opportunity to learn the pronunciation and the vocabulary of the language. THE END-OF-COURSE EVALUATION After each course the participants evaluate their work as well as the teacher's. The students take the end-of-course test, for which they receive an official certificate. The questionnaires students fill out are an avaluation of the teacher's work.
